Dean England
My name is Dean England, and I'm a Game Design student at UTD. I've always had a love and fascination for both video games and creepy things, which makes a horror game a perfect combination. In fact, some of my earliest memories are of me watching my mother play Resident Evil and Silent Hill, and I soon followed suit. It may sound weird, but playing horror games at 3-years-old on your PS1 really does something to you (in a good way)! It's hard to place exactly, but I feel that weird and uncomfortable things are actually quite cathartic: they give a certain release to the anxieties or negativities you might feel throughout your day, and I really enjoy that. As someone who struggles alot with mental health, having an outlet for such things is a huge help, and I find that survival-horror games or psychological horror games, such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, provide the biggest comfort for me, which is why I've decided to base my game off of them.
